The year was 1952, the year in which Juventus was crowned league division 1 champions in a 10 league competition after being promoted the year before. It was also the year in which Juventus finished runners up in the Dockerty Cup going down 5-0 to Brighton. It was the first championship for the club and continued the success from 1953 to 1956 and then again into 1958. An extremely successful era for our club.

We will also look closely in the next Rewind in Black and White of the Juventus squad of 1952 in which is a proud moment in our clubs history. These are the pioneers that commenced a tradition of success and the meaning for our footballers today in what putting on the black and white stripes means.

Juventus Soccer Club was formed in 1949 by Mr. Fino Fontana, Mr Antonio Jannuci, and the late Father Agostino Galante, in Carlton. Securing a ground in Royal Park, it played in the Third Division and in the first season won promotion to the Second Division, in which it stayed for two seasons.

Last year, largely due to the efforts of its coach and trainer, Mr Ivan Hernik, it gained promotion to the First Division and reached the semi-final of the Dockerty Cup.

The Juventus club, although sometimes referred to as a national club, is, in fact open to any nationality, color or creed. Majority of its members come from Italy, but there are playing and non-playing members from several other countries.

The club owes much of its success in the last two seasons to the strength and guidance of a good committee which this year consists of Mr. Nino Borsari (president), R. Fontana (vice-president), E. Sartori (secretary), P. Bedrossian (treasurer), and includes Messrs, A. Sabras, Ian Campbell, Renato, Rezzar and Tieppo.

This committee has exercised good control of its ground and funds. All uniforms and training gear are provided by the club and players are well cared for at all times. The policy of the committee has been to keep the game clean. Only well disciplined players will be tolerated and those not amenable, have been weeded out and replaced.

The club at present has two senior and one junior teams, and such is the high standard of play that while the First Division team has gained first place in the league, as well as reaching the Cup Final, the Reserve team has had exactly equal success in the Reserve League and Cup.
