Italy already qualified for next round in UEFA EURO 2016

It has been a near-perfect start for Italy at UEFA EURO 2016. Two wins and two clean sheets puts the Azzurri at the top of Group E on six points.
The Italians opened their UEFA EURO 2016 campaign with a stylish win over Belgium in Lyon, with Emanuele Giaccherini and Graziano Pelle both getting on the scoresheet. Belgium, who entered the tournament as the top-ranked side despite having never won a major tournament, were given a football lesson by the Italians. 
The second match was equally comfortable, with the Brazilian-born striker Eder clinching a 1—0 win over Sweden. The Italians have been solid in defence and clinical up front. The Juventus defensive quartet of Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci have only been breached on a few occasions, but still nobody has been able to score.
Bonucci also contributed going forward, his delightful 50-metre pass setting up Giaccherini for the first goal against Belgium. For a squad that was not highly rated going into the tournament, the Italians will find encouragement from the form of Pelle — who scored late in the first game after wasting two good chances — and Ciro Immobile, who looked lively off the bench against Belgium.
“In a tournament like this, you need an alchemy of people who get on well together,” said Italy coach Antonio Conte. “The biggest satisfaction for me tonight is to see how happy they all were, also those on the bench. There's a very good spirit in this squad.”
Italy’s final game against the Republic of Ireland is on Thursday, 23 June, at 5:00 am AEST. Qualification to the round of 16 has already been assured.
