Coaches Information

It is a requirement of Football Queensland that all coaches and managers are registered. If you have not already done this please contact your registrars - SSF - Tanya Albion or Competitive - Shirley Toffoli.

Coaches and Managers over 18 are required to hold a “Blue Card”. Please contact Shirley Toffoli to record your number or apply for a new card. The card is valid for 2 yrs and is free for volunteers.

To lighten your load and allow you to concentrate on coaching it is advisable to appoint a manager as soon as possible. A manager may be able to help with team books on game day, roster players to wash the strips and generally help in the non-coaching area.

All players, spectators and officials are reminded to read the CODE OF BEHAVIOUR and abide by them. There are correct ways to go about any on-field questionable decisions that may arise.

Diggers Club Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month throughout the season at the Football Gympie clubhouse from 6:30pm. Coaches, Managers and Parent Reps from each team are invited to attend.

Game Day

Players are to be assigned the same jersey each week to enable you or your manager to keep track of strips. This system makes the player/parent of player responsible for their jersey. When 1 jersey is lost, the whole strip is no longer usable. Players are NOT to wear jerseys home – they are to be taken off straight after game.

Many Coaches/Managers make up a washing roster for the strips each week. Please make it clear that strips are not to be dried in a clothes drier. Request that the person washing the jerseys return them to training on Thursday. Then you won’t be left hanging on a Saturday morning.

It is the responsibility of the first teams to use a field to put the nets/corner flags in position and the last team to use them to take them down. If your team is playing the first games on the March Past day please have the nets up prior to March Past so that games can run to time. We suggest that you encourage parents/players to get involved and do this for you.

If for any reason forfeit is necessary please contact Joel Albion. 24 hours notice is required otherwise the team involved may incur the referee costs.

Postponement of a game may occur if notice is given 48 hours prior to the scheduled game. This may be necessary where a team will be short of 3 or more players who are away with Representative teams, or are sick.

All players taking part in “practice” games should sign a game book.

Players are encouraged to use their own water bottle. Players are advised to have adequate fluids and apply sunscreen prior to games.

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
