Last Saturday saw The Fiona Winter Realty Noosa Tigers travel down the motorway to take on arch rival Maroochydore in an Anzac Day blockbuster. The day got underway with all the formalities tied in with Anzac Day and then the game was away.
The first quarter saw both sides testing each other with Maroochydore kicking the first goal followed by goals to Hilly, Tickner and one to Danahay. Within 3 minutes the Tigers held a 12 point lead. To late scoring shots to Maroochydore and the lead was down to 5 points.

The second quarter played much the same and neither side could break the game open. You could sense that this was going to be an epic battle all day. Goals to Dwyer, Rogers and another one for Tickner saw the Tigers hold a 15 point lead at halftime.

The third quarter started with injuries starting to mount for the Tigers with an ankle to Davis and a broken wrist to Niven. It was courage personified that saw Nivo running back into play and forcing a tap out for Noosa to goal. As the quarter went on the injuries kept on coming with Mullen and Dwyer with heavy knocks and all of a sudden the Tigers were down to zero rotations. No such worries for Maroochydore who had closed the gap to 16 points at quarter time.

James Gellie pleaded with the boys to dig deep for the last 25 minutes and the boys responded. Goals to Duke and Tickner saw Noosa hold a 20 point lead with 18 minutess remaining. Injuries were still coming with Jed Brain suffering severe cramp, Isles a knee knee and Noosa was down to 16 fit men and all were hurting. Stoppage after stoppage was the way for the next 10 mins as Maroochydore kept coming at the Tigers. Finally after a 34 min quarter Noosa held the upper hand by 4 points.
This game was a classic as both teams put their bodies on the line and all held no fear of the outcome,
