The Div 3 boys fresh off a bye went into the game against Maroochy hopefully of winning the four points but the Roos jumped us and kicked three goals before the locals touched it.
The Roos hand all of the play and looked the more committed team for the first 12 minutes of the quarter before Big Derm strolled in the middle for the centre bounce and ignited his team into action with his typical strong presence and physical game. Our forwards enjoyed the ball coming inside 50 for the first time in the game when vice Captain Daniel Dargaville kicked the first goal for the Tigers.
The two Adams Mulheron and Murrihy were in everything down back for the Tigers, Ash Riches snapped the Tigers second to get back into the game.
The second term was a very even contest the Tigers had many good players Painter, Mulheron and Murrihy the standouts in the backline along with under 18 player Daran Courtney in his first game. Brett Gavin, Tim Seccombe and Dan Primmer also wining plenty of footy, but the Tigers were unable to put it where it counts most, on the score board.
It was a much more consistent effort in the second half by the boys but again we failed to put any pressure on the scoreboard on coming up with 1 goal kicked by our captain Kris Bamback at centre half forward. Daran Courtney played well down back and looked even better when moved in to the middle and Nugget Dargaville played his usual solid game when moved back. Tim Seccombe played another good game along with the season surprise packet Dan Primmer who is contributing every week.
We had many good players around the ground, the score board not matching our overall effort. The main difference between the two teams was our lack of effort to get to training. Our game is one that can be easy to play if your fit, it’s a tough game to play without any preparation. Get to training boys!
Goal kickers this week: Kris Bamback, Ashley Riches & Daniel Dargaville Better players: Adam Mulheron, Brett Gavin, Adam Murrihy, Ashley Riches, Tim Seccombe and Dan Primmer.
Thanks to the companies who supply the awards, Halse Lodge Noosa, Eat Me Noosaville, Bulli Pizza Marcoola, FIT Noosa at Noosa Blue Resort & Stratogen Accountants Noosaville.
Thanks to Adam Davidson, Adrian and Britney Dunn, Josh Birse, Kym Hendrie, Pete Holden, Richard Murrihy and Shelly for your help on the weekend. It takes a lot of people to put on a home game and without your support we would find it tough. I must also remind all players to pay the registration fee, its due boys and it must be paid.
No video this week, we will save the videos for when we win.
Our next game is at home against the Gympie Cats.
Don’t forget to tune into Noosa Community Radio 101.3 FM for the Halse Lodge sponsored Pete Holden show each Saturday night. Pete has informed me he will soon be able to get some of the boys in for an interview.
