The Oakleigh Chargers Football Club would like to announce their TAC Cup and their Development Programs Head Coaches for 2013/2014.
Justin Wenke is returning to coach the U18 TAC Cup Squad for his 3rd year after winning the TAC Cup Premiership in his first year at the helm. The club has reviewed last season thoroughly and is implementing some new initiatives for the upcoming pre-season. Some additions to the coaching staff are Mick Stinear (Mids Coach) who is the club’s Development Manager and has worked previously with the club’s U16 and U17 programs. He is a Level 2 coach who has Senior Coaching experience. Greg McLoughlin (Fwds Coach) returns to the club after coaching De La Salle in the A Grade Amateurs for the past 2 seasons. Greg was a member of the U18 Coaching staff under Steve Grace in 2010. Leigh Clarke returns to coach the Backs in his 2nd year as an Assistant Coach with the club, having served as the club’s High Performance Manager previously. Leigh is also a Level 2 coach.
Luke O’Shannessy takes over as the Head Coach of the U16 Development Squad after serving as an Assistant coach last year. Luke is a recently accredited Level 2 coach and also has a PE teaching qualification. He has previous coaching experience with St.Mary’s Salesian FC in the VAFA and is an excellent communicator and teacher of the game. He develops positive relationships with the players and will prepare them well for their future endeavours in the club’s talent pathway.
Joe Mezgec returns for his 2nd year to oversee the U15 Development Program. Joe is also a Level 2 accredited coach and has extensive coaching experience in the YJFL, and also coaches the U14 YJFL Division 1 Squad. Joe has done an outstanding job running this program in 2013 and along with his coaching staff are well resourced and organised to provide an excellent environment for the U15 Squad players to develop their skills and abilities throughout the 2013/2014 program.
