PRACTICE MATCH TIME v BROADBEACH THIS SAT The 2010 Tradelink Western Magpies will have their first real hit out this Saturday at Sherwood FC when they take on Broadbeach in the first of 3 QAFL Practice Games over the next 3 weeks. BROPHY'S BOXING TENT THIS FRI & SAT The Western Magpies proudly presents Fred Brophy the last of Australias touring boxing stadiums will return to the SDAFSC on Friday March 12 and Saturday March 13 from 7pm. Brophy's boxers will be taking on all comers with big purses for local challengers. Entry is $40 for 1 night or $70 for both nights for Adults and children 14 and over (Accompanied by an adult). MAGPIES TAKE OUT GREEN MEMORIAL TROPHY The Tradelink Western Magpies U/21 team secured its 4th victory in as many years in the annual clash with the Western Taipans U/18 Team on Saturday afternoon 11.10.76 to 10.3.63 retaining the Russell Green Memorial Trophy. MAGIES SIGN CALIFORNIAN KID Too late Kevin Sheedy!! The Western Magpies have signed 24 year old Bryan Dragus from Los Angeles California. Following his first training session for the club on Monday Night after arriving on Saturday the Magpies will be including the 198cm 98kg American on its 2010 QAFL Senior List.

JAMES ROZYNSKI SIGNS WITH MAGPIES One of the Western Magpies most respected players will return to the club in 2010 following missing the QAFL return of the club in 2009 due to work commitments. Rozynski's last game for the Magpies was a best on ground performance winning the Ray Poulter Medal in the 2008 Pinapple Cup Premiership against PBC. U/18 TRAINING RESUMES TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9 Western Magpies U/18 training will begin on Tuesday February 9 2010 at 6pm and take place at that time on every Tuesday and Thurday from then on. BIG G RETURNS TO THE NEST Although he never actually left the Western Magpies Ruckman/Forward Gerard Moore has signed with the club for the 2010 QAFL Season. After playing a key role in the Magpies Pineapple Cup win over PBC in 2008 the talented big man was relocated to the Gold Coast by the then GC17 as part of its TAC Cup Squad. BEN HEFFERNAN-ROPER WINS BILL PEIRCE MEDAL Classy midfielder Ben Heffernan-Roper has won the prestigous Bill Peirce Medal as the 2009 Tradelink Western Magpies Best and Fairest and was presented his medal by club champion Bill Peirce at the clubs Awards Presentation Night on Saturday Night. MAGPIES PRE-SEASON RESUMES / U/18's KICK OFF The Western Magpies have resumed pre-season training starting on Monday January 12 with a welome back 3k time trial to see who enjoyed the Christmas Break too much. The Senior Magpies will traing Monday, Wednesdays and Friday at Chelmer Park from 5.45pm. Western Magpies U/18 Training will start on Thursday January 15 from 6pm under coach Des Lashman. This will be a skills session to compliment those U/18's that are training either with the Western Taipans or the Western Magpies seniors. more -->
