Western Magpies First Division Under 18 Coach

The Western Magpies are pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Allen as the under 18 coach in the AFL Sportsready Cup Divsion 1 for the 2012 season.
Craig is looking forward to continuing the strong history of success the Western Magpies have in the Division 1 AFL Sportsready Cup.
Anthony Corrie Signs with the Western Magpies
The Western Magpies are excited to announce the signing of ex-Lion and Collingwood player Anthony Corrie for the 2012 season. Corrie, 26, played 56 AFL games spanning eight seasons and will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the young Western Magpie line-up.
Corrie played 53 games for the Lions and booted 48 goals before his move to Collingwood in 2009. Corrie managed three senior games for the Pies in 2009 but a troublesome knee injury cut his 2010 campaign short.
Corrie had a breakout season for the Lions in 2005 where he booted 22 goals from his 19 games to be ranked number 1 on the rising stars goal list, and had another good year in 2008 when he kicked 21 goals from 20 games averaging over 13 possessions a game.
After spending six seasons with the Lions, Corrie is also familiar with the AFLQ and is looking forward to the move back to grass roots football in Queensland, adding he felt "excited to join a young group and is looking forward to the 2012 season".
The Western Magpies welcome Anthony to the club and wish him all the best for 2012 and beyond.

OWN YOUR PIECE OF CLUB HISTORY

"In Black and White" is the name of the newly produced book of the Sherwood Football Club's proud history.
Wow what a story! "Reading the story brought back great memories of my junior footy days, and seeing the contributions of so many of those families and folks from the 60’s and 70’s was humbling. It is a great piece of work" says Bob Shepherd the Sherwood and Fitzroy legend (43 VFL games).
This book is about an Australian Football club that kicked off in the south-western suburbs of Brisbane in the mid 1950s. From its early days the club was producing high quality footballers and teams that hated to lose. In fact Sherwood quickly became a club that had a reputation for skill, toughness and determination.
How did Sherwood create this aura?
The answer is in this glossy, professionally produced 200 page chronicle. Click the link below to go to the website for more information and purchase.
